USA 7's
February 10-11 , 2006 - The fabulous USA 7's in Los Angeles. This was the third consecutive year for the tournament at the Home Depot Center in Carson,California. It is an international tournament where the best rugby clubs in the world in 7's rugby compete. Los Angeles is one of 8 locations of this world-wide championship series.
This is truly a great event. In 2004 ,Argentina won the championship at the USA 7's over New Zealand in the finals and in 2005, New Zealand defeated Argentina in the finals to win the USA 7's. New Zealand defended its title at the 2006 USA 7's.
This is the only international rugby event ever held in the US.This was my third year doing this event from the pressbox working with the IRA evaluators and referees. This year, the women played on Friday at UCLA. The US womens 7's National Team A and B sides vs Canada A and B and then on Saturday night, an exibition between US and Canada womens allstars.
